Rosa Parks

Kristin and I stood in like for about 7 hours yesterday to pay tribute to a woman that sparked a cultural revolution.

Organizers were expecting 30,000 people to show, at least 300,000 came, and that was yesterday. While I was nearing the Capitol entrance, I could still see folks in line that had a 6 hour wait ahead of them. To see so many people, it was remarkable. The line just went and went.

By the time I got inside, I could hardly walk, literally. The pain in my knees and back was intense but I reminded myself it was nothing compared to the walking endured during the bus strike in Montogomery or the march from Selma.

I made it home just fine and my 7 hours in line to see a woman I admire was just a small tribute to her activism.
