I guess it’s not Imran (someone else is an a$$hole)
I wrote a number of sites last week asking for a quick blurb about a project that some volunteers are working on in Guyana. Thinking I would have the support of these bloggers as Peace Corps is a world renown and very prestigious organization, I sent off this e-mail:
I am a recently returned Peace Corps volunteer from Georgetown.
Once you leave Peace Corps, it never leaves you, so I continue to care deeply about people, places and projects regarding Guyana. One project I am involved with regards sending kids to a leadership camp.
http://brokekid.net/Mike/ (no longer working)
Anyway, I was wondering if you could post a blurb about the project on your site. We have a very short time to raise a lot of money. Peace Corps yanked funding for this due to threat of possible lawsuits…kind of lame…but that’s the deal.
Anyway, do you have a network of bloggers you know of that might be interested in linking to this story? We need a lot of help and very soon!
Thanks,
Scott Stadum

And this sorry sack for a commentator and social pundit writes this back:
We are very suspicious of this mail coming from someone who goes by the presumably self-assigned moniker brokekid.
Sorry brokekid but we are not going to contribute to this Americanization of Guyana and the world. You and Georgie W can go pelt mangoes at his mom’s broad backside.
This Peace Corps crap about leadership camps is nothing but a smokescreen for those delinquent American kids to be shipped off to so called depressed parts of the world to spread Republican propaganda while boosting their self-confidence.
These camps are no different from the Kabaka’s indoctrination school. Of course it is a lot more subtle now, with pretty language, candy and frilly kite paper. Besides this whole thing seems very shady.
Why should you waste your money on this joke? Look if you want to help youths in Guyana go buy some food and give it to them to eat and buy some wood and cement and build a home for them. They are dozens of them roaming around all over Georgetown and throughout the coastland. Chase those blasted Peace Corps propagandists back to some ramshackle trailor-park in Kentucy.
So there you go brokekid, we have no problem putting a blurb up. Just not what you expected, was it?
What a moron. I’m guessing this ignorant fool has no idea who we are or what we do. I asked him what he does to help Guyanese, besides fowl mouth everyone and propogate stupidty and ignorance?
Leave this guy a comment. What a joke.

[...] It appears as though livinguyana.blogspot.com/ can dish it out but can’t take it…awww….Imran Khan, or whoever is writing this stuff apparently can claim all sorts of ridiculousness about Peace Corps, but when we try to stand up for ourselves in his comment section, he removes comments! Now there is a brave, brave man. [...]
