… and what’s his name, the president, dropped by to formally open the room to the people who gather there on weekdays for no apparent reason. (They are called “White House correspondents,” probably because they used to write a lot of letters?)
Because this is the Bush-Cheney Administration, the president refused to answer any questions. The White House correspondents got a good laugh out of that and everybody enjoyed themselves.
Then the roof collapsed and killed them all, the end.

Deborah Jeane Palfrey releases phone records
You can go through them here. For a little background:
Deborah Jeane Palfrey (born 1956) is the former owner of Pamela Martin and Associates, which the United States government alleges was a prostitution service in Washington, D.C. She has been charged with operating a house of prostitution. She has been nicknamed the D.C. Madam. It has been alleged that her clients include many Beltway personalities, and State Department official Randall L. Tobias resigned after admitting he used the agency. She now lives in Escondido, California.
…
Palfrey appeared on ABC’s 20/20 as part of an investigative report on 4 May 2007. In combination with Palfrey’s statement that she has 10,000 to 15,000 phone numbers of clients, this has caused several clients’ lawyers to contact Palfrey to see whether accommodations could be made to keep their identities private. Ultimately, the ABC News network, after poring through what was described as “46 lbs” (21 kg) of phone records, decided that none of the potential clients was sufficiently “newsworthy” to bother mentioning.
The scandal has led to the resignation of Ambassador Randall L. Tobias from his State Department position, with the U.S. Agency for International Development.
Also named was Washington Times columnist Harlan Ullman of the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
Cas Haley
This guy is seriously great.
Try and bear with it through the cheese intro and outro, his cover of “Walking on the Moon” is pretty solid.

Firefox Flavors Revisited
Update: This is sort of what I was talking about, but I was thinking more open source than sell out. And it’s only taken two years to think of.
I was reading an old Wired mag that had a story about Firefox, it’s past and it’s future. Something struck me the other day, and reading the article came across as great timing, but I was thinking about ways to get Firefox to more people and make it more interesting. Firefox flavors.
Releasing packaged Firefox apps with specific extensions, scripts and plugins geared towared a specific interest might be a wonderful direction to go. I am very political and would love to have access to a plethora of politically oriented scripts, skins and extensions to help with my web experience. My sister on the other hand is very big into eBay, why couldn’t there be a browser that is tailored to her needs? She is mainly interested in using eBay any time she is online.
You can do some of these thing very easily as it is now, but some folks have no idea where to even began, like my sisters. But an eBay Firefox browser, co-branded through eBay, would be a great way to spread the software and a great way to enhance the web experience.
